Manic Monday

I'm exhausted. Seriously! The first annual shop 'til you drop marathon. We began with the pick-up at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday morning. And everyone mark it down - I was ready! I had my holiday lights headband on and was dressed in layers ready for the crazy mall temps. The best way to Christmas shop- drunk! Hilarious!!! We stopped for lunch after hitting the pet store, Best Buy, and like 4 stores in the mall. Two cosmos later and E was a happy camper. Woo hoo! After we were filled to the gills we continued on in our quests for great bargains and happy holidays. The word of the day was Yo! As in, I'm gonna go look over here Yo! Or, Yo!, what do you think of this perfume, Yo! The goal was to see how many times you could slip it into the conversation without M freaking out and hitting us! She is sooo violent. :)
Ok, on to more shopping. I had planned on buying my mom a 2006, Mr. Bingle doll. But, to my surprise, they had an entire set of them - 7 in all! M thinks they look like bats. She just doesn't know. Mr. Bingle has been a serious staple in my house since I can remember. We used to have a store in Memphis called Lowenstein's. It was in Poplar Plaza where Spin Street is now located. In the big window where Elvis now hangs- Mr. Bingle once reigned. It was Christmas when Mr. Bingle came to the big window- you knew Santa was around the corner! So now my momma is the proud owner of 8 new Mr. Bingles (1998-2004 and 2006). The woman at Dillards - they now own the Mr. Bingle rights, said she didn't think they had a 2005 doll. If anyone knows they did- let me know. I am now on a mission! She has an oldie but goodie like the one in the add above. He has been well-loved and has seen better days, but he is very important at our house!
So after all the shopping- I believe the last purchase was around 9:30 p.m. @ Macy's. The purchase, a brand new pretty for E! It will be her birthday after all (in less than a week).
After the last climb up the mall steps to the parking garage, it was decided, that I would go along for the sushi dinner. Sushi- yes me. I have had sushi before with Kram and others always ordering and saying, "you should try this. It's cooked." This time, I took the initiative and read the menu and ordered for myself. Officially, I am a convert. It is actually good! I only tried the cooked stuff, but honestly, it was really filling and yummy tasting. I love the California roll and some sort of roll that has avocado, salmon and cream cheese! Who would've thunk it!
Needless to say when I got home at 11:15 p.m., I got directly in bed and took a handful of Advil.

TGI Friday!!!

So my sister lives in Oklahoma City, OK. She sent me this picture of the snow outside her house. I'm sooo terribly jealous! I love snow. In Memphis we get ice, if we get anything!

We had some horrible wind last night! It was loud and forceful. I generally sleep with my window open- I am a hot-natured person. So at exactly 4:44a.m. I woke to the howl of the wind and rustle of my window blinds. Ok, so it startled the poo out of me! I tried shoving my pillow in front of my window... tired and lazy. But alas, I was required to get up and shut my window for fear that I would be found encased in a block of ice. It was so cold that you could have hung some serious meat products in there!

Today at the liberry: half of the building is without power, it is cold in here, and the computers keep shutting off and on with no notice. (They are working on the power in the neighborhood because much of the power was knocked out because of the wind.) Have you ever heard nearly 20 computers turn on and off at the same time. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner that is turned on and then turned off again. Over and over and over again! Everyone- pray for a half day of work!

Grey's last night- loved it! I wouldn't be able to handle it if George's daddy hadn't made it through the surgery! Seriously! But, I love that everyone finally tried to forgive Cristina. Isn't it weird how we can forgive some people easier than we can others. Why do we hold some people to higher standards?

Ok, some major Christmas shopping will begin on Saturday for the 'cleaning lady'. MUST get it done! It's driving me insane- ok, more than normal. Sunday I will be performing my Sunday Service. That's what we call our time to work at the big liberry. Oh history department, how I love you. For those of you who don't know; I am soooo being facetious.
